The Humane Society of Cottage Grove is a non-profit organization comprised of dedicated volunteers who seek to improve the lives of animals in our area. We have been in existence, serving South Lane County for over 20 years. Our primary goal is to educate and encourage people to alter their pets. We have several programs that assist people with the cost of spay/neuter. We have an educational program that brings us into every 2nd grade classroom in South Lane School District once a year. Although we have no shelter, we have a foster care program and work closely with other Humane Societies to place healthy animals in adoptive homes.
In 2010, HSCG:
• Financially assisted with the spay/neuter of 130 cats and 108 dogs.
• Given away 500 $20 off coupons for spay and neuter.
• Operated the all volunteer This 'n' That Shop 6 days a week, 52 weeks a year.
• Logged over 11,595 miles on animal-related transportation .
• Transported over 300 cats and 29 dogs (stray and owned) to appropriate agencies.
